Amma's Angel- week 2

Hello Everyone!
The second week of Amma's Angel went off very well. We had around twenty five children. Many of the children from last week were present and there were some new children too. The class was commenced by lighting of the lamp during which everyone chanted "Om Amriteshwaryai Namah". This was followed by chanting "Om" thrice and a saraswati mantra.

The children were then taught ABCD.. in a sing song manner. They responded very well. We, the volunteers and the children then played ringa- ringa- roses followed by 'united chain' (chor sakhli) where a single person starts off by running and catching someone and then those two form a chain and catch another person and so on. Gradually the chain gets longer and it becomes easier to catch the remaining persons. It teaches us a simple yet profound lesson of the effectiveness of doing things together in a team.
The kids really enjoyed it and wanted to play more. Some of them even requested if they could play cricket sometime!

This was followed by Swamiji's story. He explained the importance of doing good actions and the consequences of wrong ones. After Swamiji's story, the children were enlightened about Amma's younger days when she used to get up early in the morning, work, go to school, come back and again work, all while repeatedly chanting god's name.
This was followed by a snack break when the kids were given sandwiches.

During the post-break session, the children were taught Gandhiji's message of not speaking bad, hearing bad and seeing bad. They were also taught not to waste water. They were advised not to use foul language and if they encountered someone doing so, they have to tell them not to do so.
Following this, the children responded very enthusiastically and eagerly when they were asked if they wanted to write. The children were taught to write alphabets both in capital and cursive handwriting.

In the end, everyone sang 'Om namah shivaya' accompanied by loud and energetic clappings of the children.

Thus, thanks to Amma's grace, another session of this project went off very well. Please feel free to express any ideas you might be having in order to make this endeavour a success!
Namah Shivaya!

In Amma's love,
Ayudh Mumbai
